LIFE Ionizers - Replacement Pre-Filters

LIFE provide a free choice of pre-filter with every ionizer.  Below is a list of the available pre-filters with a brief description of each.  If you need to buy a replacement choose the required filter from the drop down list at the bottom and add to your cart.

5 micron carbon block

This 5 Micron Carbon filter removes chlorine, organic chemicals, bad taste and odour. 

Anti-scale filter

The anti-scale filter incorporates a carbon block (75% of the filter) and polyphosphate salts that prevent minerals bonding to form scale.

Arsenic, lead & fluoride filter

Specific medium for the removal or arsenic, lead & fluoride.

Catalytic Granular Activated Carbon for the removal Chloramines

Catalytic GAC is more effective then standard GAC or carbon block at removing hydrogen sulfide and chloramines.  

Hard water filter

This hard water filter utilises a dark cation bead resin designed to remove dissolved mineral hardness such as calcium and magnesium.  Choose this filter where water is extremely hard.  The Hard water filter will not remove all mineral content from the water.  Where this may be necessary, e.g. for some well waters, then a combination of Reverse Osmosis and a re-mineralizing filter should be used.

Heavy metal filter

The copper granular KDF in this cartridge specialises in the removal of inorganics and heavy metals.  Where a water report indicates the presence of high levels of heavy metals this filter would make a good choice.

Re-mineralizing cartridge

For customers with exceptionally high water mineral content (e.g. well water) where use of a hard-water cartridge is insufficient, the best option may be to use Reverse Osmosis prior to ionization.  In this scenario a re-mineralizing cartridge should be used to add back in effective levels of calcium and magnesium for proper ionization.
